It all started on January 23rd, 2017, when Murat, in a fit of career ambition, sent his résumé to Joanna. Little did he know, he was actually applying for a position in her heart. Their first "interview" took place at a Starbucks. Murat, thinking it was a date, showed up with high hopes and a touch of swag. Joanna, however, brought textbooks and a plan to study for several hours. And so, romance was temporarily on hold...but a friendship was brewing alongside the coffee.

This friendship, much like chocolate left in the sun, quickly melted into something more. Somewhere between final exams, coffee-fueled study sessions, chocolate-infused work shifts and intense rounds of billiards, love found its way into the mix. Although the timeline of these events might be a little fuzzy. But hey, love doesn’t follow a syllabus, right?

In 2019, Murat, convinced he was destined to be the next great solo adventurer, set off on a "long journey of self-discovery". But, just like any good plot twist, he realized that all roads lead back to Joanna. So, with a backpack full of stories and a heart full of longing, he returned, begging Joanna to take him back.​

Spoiler alert: She did.

Fast forward to 2023, and after many shared trips to their home countries, Murat decided to add a new chapter to their story with a proposal to which Joanna said yes — proving that some things, like their love, only get better with time.
